About Us - How We Teach

Picture
Understanding three vital things has kept our swim school successful for the past 20 years:
  1. Novice swimmers must be given the support they need.
  2. Learning to swim should be fun!
  3. Lane swimmers can continue developing their skills and understand the concept of 'training' without having to commit to the pressures of a competitive swimming club.
For beginner swimmers, teachers are in the water with the kids until they can swim a confident distance. Some of the parents join us in the water too - an extra pair of eyes is always useful.

We run a teenage swimming teacher training programme, offer support for those undertaking the Duke of Edingburgh awards and GCSE and A' Level P.E courses.

We run "similar ability" teaching groups and we progress our swimmers from beginners through to experts. Most of our teenagers have been swimming with us ever since they started school.

Our "themed" swimming lessons for younger children improves their stroke technique without them even knowing ... they just think they are playing games.

This is a fun way to learn that we have developed ourselves.

It is unique to Ruth's Swim School.
