About Us - Lanes Club
Be part of a Swimming Club 'without' the Commitment to Competition.
Firstly, we welcome any swimmer able to swim a few lengths with a reasonable stroke to come along and give it a try!! For swimmers wishing to step down from competition we offer weekly sessions to maintain training and fitness. We have a designated club for 'teenage swimmers' later on a Sunday evening in the beautiful pool at Sidcot School.
We encourage swimmers to develop their technique and endurance in the lanes at Sidcot School. Preparation for lane swimming is in an ideal setting at Redhill House Pool situated on the A38 near to Bristol Airport.
Our programme involves stroke development, starts, turns, speed and stamina training but it also caters for the swimmer who just wants to keep fit as part of a club without the pressure of competition or commitment to training many times a week.
For swimmers who have swum competitively but only want to keep their hand in by swimming, training or taking part in an aquatic skill once a week, we are there to help.
In addition to lane swimming, we do the following activities from time to time, allowing swimmers to experience a range of aquatic skills, play team games with their friends and to understand that being a strong swimmer opens up other opportunities.
Swimmers are welcome to join more than one session a week if they so wish.
